Berlin’s new Skyline with the Potsdamer Platz and „Checkpoint Charlie" - An informative walk through Berlin’s “new” and “old” centre

Our tour begins at Potsdamer Platz, Berlin’s new, old centre.
Standing under the Motto “from Europe’s largest building site to Europe’s largest attraction” you will be able to see the impressive change from the once most busy traffic centres, to the symbol of German division, to the new, lively Berlin city centre. Here, the “new Berlin” is growing, and especially upwards, and receives a veritable flood of visitors.
On the Potsdamer Platz, again pulsating with life, and framed by exceptional architecture between the SONY-City-Daimler-Chrysler-City- and the Ritz-Carlton-Hotel: a total investment of 6 billion Euros, a gigantic figure.
The walk leads further along the course of the former Berlin wall to the remains of a guard house and a stretch of original Berlin wall. Finally, we reach “Checkpoint Charlie.” Here, on three October days in 1961, cold war history was written, when Soviet and American tanks stood opposite each other. “Checkpoint Charlie” and the Berlin wall museum stand for authentic memories.
